provincial level. These parks layout adds up to an area
of 550, 000 mu with 140,000 mu developed. 2954 enterprises

valued RMB 34.4 billion yuan. |

| It
is a provincial-level industrial development zone. The
park was established in 1999 by local government especially
for investors from Taiwan and other countries as well
as domestic businessman to build up their factories. The
park locates in Jiangmen High-Tech Industrial Development
Zone, in southeast of the city with 146.6 hactare (2,200
mu) land. |

| It
is a provincial-level development zone, locating in the
new districts of the city proper, connecting the old urban
district in the north and adjacent to the Yinzhouhu lake
in the west with a total area of 9.89 square kilometers.
The zone boasts a favorable investment environment and
provides preferential policies as well. There are over
70 enterprises invested by foreign investors from the
US, Britain, Switzerland, Japan, Singapore, Hongkong and
Macao etc., yielding an output value of over 3.7 billion
in 2003. Now it has formed seven large industrial system
of electricity and electric appliance, motorcycles, chemical
fiber and textiles, hardware and stainless steel, optical
instruments, IT industry and fine chemicals. |
| Guanghaiwan
Overseas Chinese Investments Development Trial District
of Taishan |
| The trial district
was approved by the government of Guangdong province as
the first kind of industrial park for investments by overseas
Chinese in the province. Situated in the southeast of
Taishan city and west of estuary of The Pearl River, the
district boasts an area of 65 km. In the east, it abuts
on Zhuhai and adjacent to Hongkong and Macao. It is about
87 nautical miles away from Hongkong and 52 nautical miles
away from Macao.In the south, it faces South China Sea
and near to international sea-route. In the west, it leads
to Zhanjiang and Hainan province. in the north, it joins
the road to the downtown of the city. Big projects for
investments are: First, high-new tech industry with raw
and processed materials, paper-making factory, aluminium-making
plant, rolling mill, refinery and galvanization. Second,
the petrochemical industry, petrolic products and storage.
Third, various processing industries. Forth, Food and
Drink and entertainment business. |
